1961
Food in tubes
On the spaceship Vostok-1 diet was mainly based on tubes. On spaceships Vostok-2 and Voskhod-3 besides products in tubes diet also included prepared meat products in plastic bags with limited storage time.
1975
3-day diet
On the spaceship Soyuz-9 heating system was added. Diet consisted of 3-day meal. Later 6-day meal was developed and became most used diet program in flights.
1977
Freeze dried food
On spaceship Salyut-7 diet was mainly based on freeze dried food instead of tubes.
1986
Russian diet
On space station Mir 6-day Russian meal was used as well as Russian-American diet.
2014
16-day Russian diet
On ISS astronauts started to use 16-day Russian diet including commercial production products.
